It is a collaborative theory of child development that was proposed by Dr.T.Berry Brazelton. It is a method of strengthening the inter-relationship between a parent and child. Its main objective is to prepare parents to deal with the regressions that a child faces and effectively manage their sliding behavior during the transition (Metro United Way, 2008). It occurs just before the spurt development of a child, it accounts for a pre-development fall back after which a child steps into a new phase of learning.
